Happy Rottweiler after behaviour consultations in South Wales

Beth & Dave

We came to know Colin when we rescued Benson 70kg, our first of three rescue rottweilers 18 years ago. From the outset he was such a support to us and always available to give us sensible advice and tips as we got to know the breed which we came to love so much. Our second was Codi, a gorgeous girl with the sweetest temperament too.

Our third Rottie was a difficult case as she had been badly treated and was occasionally unpredictable; it's fair to say that without Colin's support and guidance Ruby became the best she could be despite the poor treatment she had suffered with a past owner. She only lived a couple of years but those were the best years she had and we loved her very much.

Lastly and currently, we welcomed Bella all the way from Romania at the start of 'lock down' — a beautiful large breed Romanian mountain dog with the sweetest temperament.

Thanks Col for all your support across the years there were some desperate times but you always helped us out and for that we are truly grateful.

Happy cocker spaniel dog training review in Swansea

Christel

I cannot recommend Colin highly enough! He has been absolutely amazing with my two Cocker Spaniels, Harry and Megan. From the moment they started with him over 5 years ago, I could see how much care, patience and understanding he has for dogs.

Colin provides a wonderful daycare environment where I know Harry and Megan are safe, happy and well looked after. He really takes the time to understand each dog's individual personality and needs.

Happy border collie after attending classes every Friday

Jodie

I honestly couldn’t recommend Colin enough! I first took my dog Buddie to Colin around 5 years ago because he was extremely reactive — we couldn’t even walk past another dog without a severe reaction.

Fast forward to now, and Buddie can go camping, enjoy walks, and come everywhere with us without those severe reactions. It’s honestly amazing to see how far he has come, and I’m so grateful to Colin for all his help and guidance over the years.

Buddie goes to Colin’s centre every Friday and absolutely loves it! He gets to play and socialise with other dogs, and it’s become something he really looks forward to.

I genuinely wouldn’t trust anyone else with Buddie. Colin has been brilliant from day one, and I couldn’t recommend him and his centre highly enough!

Calm, confident labrador who was able to recover after trauma thanks to dog behaviour work in South Wales

Aimée Penhale & Fred

Fred was an absolute nightmare of a dog before you helped us out, every walk with him was a gauntlet of hysterical barking and lunging at other dogs, cats, squirrels, etc, we couldn’t walk past a house with dogs in it without him getting all riled up.

A previous dog trainer had told us to just avoid those situations but that was not practical as we are surrounded by houses with dogs where we live! And it was severely limiting where we could take him on walks for fear of meeting other dogs.

You showed us how to take control of the situation and actually stop that reactive behaviour and, while he still has his moments on occasion, he is a pleasure to walk now. Your lessons mean that I have control over him at all times, even just when leaving the house, he will sit and wait for my command to come out of the door! Also, bringing him to the centre every week so that he has been socialised in a safe environment with all different breeds of dogs has done absolute wonders for him, Thursdays are our families favourite days because Fred is the calmest most contented dog ever when he comes home! Thank you so, so much for all that you have done for us.

A German Shepherd, Shadow, that benefitted from socialising classes in the Port Talbot Dog Training Centre

Jean Buckle

We first met Colin at his Centre in Port Talbot in 2020 where we had been told about him by a family member. Our German Shepherd pup Shadow was introduced at that time as socialisation was important due to lockdown restrictions.

From the first day to the present it was the best move we made. Shadow attends twice a week and we're sure he knows what day it is as he can't wait to enter the compound.

We can honestly say we trust Colin with Shadow 100% as he has the love for the dogs which is plain to see.

Thank you Colin for all you do, it is much appreciated and we would recommend anyone thinking about placing their dogs with you to do so.

Molly’s owner

I highly recommend Colin as a dog behaviourist. I rescued my Cavalier, Molly, who had sadly been traumatised and abused before coming to me. She was absolutely terrified and had very little confidence.

I couldn't get Molly on a lead because she was so frightened, and I also struggled to get her to go to the toilet outside in the garden. She would simply take herself off to a corner because she was so scared.

I contacted Colin, and with his patience, and knowledge, he managed to help Molly get comfortable wearing a lead and, most importantly, helped to give her a little more confidence.

Seeing Molly begin to feel safer and more confident meant so much to me. I will always be grateful to Colin for the help, patience and kindness he showed her. Thank you, Colin.

Kenny’s owner

My dog Kenny has been with Colin now for over 5 years and it's been brilliant. My dog was a rescue and had not been socialised not only with people but with other dogs as well. So I made the decision to send him to doggy day care or school as I like to call it, and the difference has been amazing.

He's so good with other dogs and much more trusting, and loves being around people. This is down to the way Colin has been, I would recommend it to everyone. Thank you so much col.

Colin was recommended to us through friends that were already using his services and our dogs have enthusiastically been going to him now for 7 years.

Colin not only looks after our dogs at daycare and boards them for us when needed (he is extremely flexible and will bend over backwards to help you if he can) but we have attended his puppy classes and had 1:1 consultations.

We went through a very traumatic stage with our dogs; they were really not getting along, to the point we were struggling to have both in the house at the same time. The support and advice he gave us was spot on and helped us through a very difficult time.

Our dogs absolutely love going to daycare and when we say ‘do you want to go and see Colin’, they get extremely excited and can’t wait to get out the door.

There is absolutely nobody else we would entrust the care of our dogs to; they could not be in better hands.

We cannot recommend Colin highly enough! Thank you for everything :)

I first met Colin in 2017 when I was looking for someone to help with our rescue dog. She was displaying aggression to other dogs, especially smaller ones. It was becoming so bad we were considering sending her back. With Colin’s help, support and guidance that did not happen and she spent 3 more happy years with us.

Since then our subsequent dogs have all spent time with Colin, both at daycare and sleepovers. Most recently Colin helped us with our rather boisterous and headstrong boxer dog youngster with his lead work.

There are very few people I would entrust my dogs with but Colin is most certainly one of them. Most importantly to me, the dogs obviously love Colin. If I play any of his videos and they hear him they start looking for him!

I will be forever grateful to Colin for all his help and support.
